Oops!

I just realized that I didn't really post any updates about our baby girl. I don't go again to the doctor for a couple more weeks but I have been feeling her kick and move a lot. I even woke up early this morning to her kicking or hitting my ribs! I wonder if she will be a morning person like her mama.

Cravings: any kind of ice cream, chicken fingers, pizza (still), mashed potatoes and Jimmy John's sub sandwiches.

23 weeks

I am 23 weeks today. I am feeling great however, I started encountering the dreaded indigestion. It is amazing how fast it hits me. It doesn't matter what I eat, I get heartburn at least once a day. So, I have decided that it might be necessary to starting taking some heartburn meds. There are a few that are considered safe during pregnancy, TUMS just aren't doing the trick these days. The nursery planning is in full swing. I have ordered the glider, bought the dresser and have it and we will get her crib this weekend. Next will be finding a rug, paint color for the walls, a bookshelf and the rest of the accessories. I am having so much fun picking out everything, it is a lot easier than I thought it would be. I will post some pictures as soon as I get it all in and the old furniture moved out. I will also post some bump pics next week. I am trying to stick with the even numbered weeks for those!

Jack-0′-Lantern Cocktail.



1 oz cognac

.5 oz Grand Marnier

1.5 oz orange juice

.5 oz ginger ale

orange wheel & lime twist for garnish.



Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake well and strain into an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with an orange & lime “Pumpkin Top”..



“Pumpkin Top” Garnish

Fold a small piece of lime twist/peel in half and insert it into the center of an orange wheel..

21 Weeks

I went in yesterday for my 20 week appointment. Yes, I know I am 21 weeks but I couldn't go last week due to work so I went this week. The doctor told me everything looked perfect, that is always a wonderful thing to hear. I have started feeling her kick and move which is so crazy to me. Austin hasn't been able to feel it from the outside but I am thinking any day he will be able to. We are so thankful and are counting down the days until we can see her sweet face.

Recent Cravings: anything pumpkin, Sprinkles cupcakes, pumpkin candy corns, Qudoba, Panera Bread French onion soup and mashed potatoes.

Side note: I have started cooking again. I made my creamy chicken crock pot recipe, stuffed bell peppers and a batch of pumpkin bread. It is so great to be feeling more "normal" again.

TCU in the Big 12!

I am so excited that my horned frogs decided to join the Big 12 conference instead of the Big East. They made the announcement today. The Big 12 conference has a lot of great teams. It will bring great things to TCU and that also means they will get to play the Longhorns every year! Look out!

Hook'em

Well, the Longhorns lost but we still had a great weekend. We started out Friday night with a group dinner at Kirby's and then ventured over to Dodie's rooftop bar. We woke up early on Saturday and went over to the Clark's for a little pre-game party and then headed to the Cotton Bowl. We stayed at the game until halftime and then no one wanted to go back in.... I wonder why!  So, we headed to the Midway and spent the afternoon there. With Fletcher's corn dogs in hand, we played games, rode some rides (not me), bought lots of unnecessary items and saw tons of friends that we haven't seen in a while. We left the fair late that afternoon and headed back to our house for naps and then ended the the day at the Clark's for the after party. Here are some pictures that I took, we can't wait until next year!
