I went in today for my 36 week appointment. Blood pressure was good, weight was good and heartbeat was perfect. Today was the first day she checked for dilation and effacement. I apparently had none of that. No dilation, no effacement, nothing! I was shocked. I have definitely been having some Braxton Hicks contractions but she said that was perfectly normal for being 36 weeks along. As she was checking for all of this, she noticed that she couldn't really feel the baby's head. She thought maybe because she is so high or essentially living in my rib cage. So, she decided to do an ultrasound. Just as she thought, baby Champion is breech. I was shocked! When I went in for my last 4 appointments, she has been head down. That little stinker! Dr. Speight then checked my fluid levels to see if she could possibly have the ability to turn on her own. No such luck. Due to minimal room and fluid it is very unlikely but still possible for her to turn on her own. Apparently, most babies that end up turning, have more room and have at least a foot down for some traction. Not this baby. She is all cuddled up in a ball, happy as can be. So, the verdict... a scheduled C-Section on February 15th. I will go in next Wednesday and we will get a better sonogram to see about her weight, see if she has turned and to basically have the C-section finalized. It is amazing how things can change. I am still in shock but I just want a healthy baby girl. I am trying to look at all of the positives of the situation: knowing when she is coming, being able to be completely (as much as possible) prepared, being able to have my hair , makeup and nails done, no cone- headed baby and not having stitches in a place no one wants to have stitches! I know God has a plan and we just have to trust in him. I will post some bump pics later this week. My wonderful co-workers are throwing me a shower tomorrow at work, I am really excited!

35 Weeks
Only 33 days to go. In a little over month, (or less) we will get to meet our baby girl. I am definitely getting antsy and nervous but I am ready to finally meet her and not be pregnant any longer! I am still nesting. I assume I will do this until she comes or I no longer have anything to do. We have a few items left with the nursery. I promise I will post some pics as soon as it gets to where it needs to be. We have had a problem with the rug. I ordered one at the beginning of December for Restoration Hardware Baby and Child and it was back- ordered twice and was finally delivered Tuesday... and it doesn't work! It just doesn't look right. So, I was a little frustrated and upset. Our search has started over. If anyone knows where I can find a good rug for her nursery, please email me! I have looked everywhere. I am looking for a very light pink or grey color, a simple pattern or just a plain one. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Here are some pics that Austin took earlier. I think I am growing bigger and bigger every day!

34 Week Bump Pic and Update
I went to the doctor yesterday for my 34 week check-up. She said everything was looking great. Baby Champion is head down and her heartbeat was still strong. I will go again in 2 weeks and then they will start checking for dilation. Here is a pic Austin took last night. Don't look at my makeup, this after a long day of teaching Kindergarten and a girls' dinner.

34 Weeks
I feel like the last 10 weeks or so have completely flown by. It is hard for me to even say out loud that I am 34 weeks! Here is the Baby Center information for 34 weeks. I will post some bump pics later this week as well as an update from the doctor. I go tomorrow afternoon.

How your baby's growing:
Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies. With Love, Skylar

Baby Shower
Four of my dear college friends threw me the most adorable baby shower this last Saturday. I can't do it justice. Here is the link to Paige's blog, she was one of the hostesses. It was a great time with friends and family. I can't believe how much time and effort these girls put into this, I am blessed to have such amazing friends. Enjoy!

33 Weeks
I think I am in shock that I am already 33 weeks. Since we have found out the gender, it has flown by. The nursery is almost complete and ready to go. All of that nesting has really paid off:) We are just waiting on the curtains to have the black-out liner sewn in and the rug to come in (backordered twice, boo!). I think everything will be 100% in about 2 weeks. I will post some pictures as soon as it is complete. I went to the doctor last Thursday and everything looked great. I am still measuring small which is always good. I go again next Wednesday and will give you another update then. As far as cravings, nothing new here. Ice cream is still on my short list along with: cheeseburgers, sub sandwiches, and cereal with cold milk. I have also wanted fruit juices, milk chocolate, and orange creme Yoplait yogurt. I have my first baby shower this weekend and I am super excited. Here is my 33 week information cut and pasted from Baby Center.
How your baby's growing:
This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a cone head-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.
As your baby fills out even more of your belly, lots of things might start to change: Whereas before you were sashaying, you may find yourself waddling. Finding an easy position to sit in — let alone sleep — is becoming more of a challenge. And bumping into chairs and counters is par for the course.
You may be feeling some achiness and even numbness in your fingers, wrists, and hands. Like many other tissues in your body, those in your wrist can retain fluid, which can increase pressure in the carpal tunnel, a bony canal in your wrist. Nerves that run through this "tunnel" may end up pinched, creating numbness; tingling, shooting or burning pain; or a dull ache. Try wearing a splint to stabilize your wrist or propping your arm up with a pillow when you sleep. If your work requires repetitive hand movements (at a keyboard or on an assembly line, for instance), remember to stretch your hands when you take breaks — which should be frequently.

Yummy!
I made these enchiladas on Monday and they are definitely going to be added to my recipe box! I got the recipe off of Pinterest, love that website. Here it is, I made some notes, take them or leave them.
Chicken enchiladas with green chili sour cream sauce
10 soft taco shells- (I used corn tortillas- could be good with flour as well)
2 cups cooked, shredded chicken ( I used rotisserie chicken)
2 cups shredded Monterrey Jack cheese ( I used a Mexican cheese blend)
3 Tbsp. butter
3 Tbsp. flour
2 cups chicken broth
1 cup sour cream
1 (4 oz) can diced green chillies ( I used 7 ounces for an extra kick)
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 pan
2. Mix chicken and 1 cup cheese. Roll up in tortillas and place in pan.
3. In a sauce pan, melt butter, stir in flour and cook 1 minute. Add broth and whisk until smooth. Heat over medium heat until thick and bubbly.
4. Stir in sour cream and chilies. Do not bring to boil, you don't want curdled sour cream.
5. Pour over enchiladas and top with remaining cheese.
6. Bake 22 min and then under high broil for 3 min to brown the cheese.
Enjoy!
