It's A....
Girl! I think Austin and I are both still in shock. Austin thought from day 1 that is was a boy and I have been going back and forth between boy and girl. On Friday, we had our 18 week ultrasound appointment. The doctor went through all of the measurements and told us that everything looked either fantastic or perfect. That was music to my ears. The whole time I was trying to look at the sonogram for certain "things" to see if I could tell before he told us. It was so hard to listen to everything because you are so curious what the gender is. Right before he told us, we both saw what we thought looked like boy parts, and I know now we had no idea what we were looking at. At the very end, he told us we were having a girl. I wish I had our reactions on camera. We both asked the doctor how sure he was and he said that he was completely positive it is a girl. We had a reveal party lastnight with our families. A couple of our close friends stopped by for the cake cutting event. Both of our mothers held onto the knife and cut the cake. The middle of the cake was filled with bright pink filling. It was so great to see everyone's reactions and even their predictions all night before the cake cutting. It was a very special night that we will never forget. Here is my 18 week sonogram snapshot and I will post the reveal party pics later.

The Countdown begins!
This coming Friday the 23rd, we have our doctor's appointment to find out the nugget's gender. I didn't start getting antsy about this until last week. Every time I think about it I start smiling and start predicting what I think our little one is. Everyone has asked, "What do you think it is?" I honestly have no idea. I have always called it a she but I honestly think it was a natural thing because I have a sister and 2 girl dogs. I will be happy either way. I think there are wonderful things about either gender. We are just praying for a healthy baby at this point. On Saturday, we are hosting both of our families at our house for a gender reveal party. Austin and I will be finding out the sex on Friday but we are keeping it a secret until the party. I couldn't wait any longer and if you know me, I am not big on surprises:) I have ordered a cake with the gender colored icing and everyone (except us 2) will find out from that. I will post the big announcement after our reveal party!

Mom of the Year Award
My mom definitely deserves this after this last weekend. She not only came over to Dallas on Saturday night to watch the girls but made time to work in our front flower beds and even do some work in my living/dining room. She is amazing and I am very appreciative for everything she does for us. Thank you mom, I love you!

16 weeks
Today I went in for my 16th week appointment. The doctor said the heartbeat was strong, my uterus was in the right place or position and I have gained a perfect amount of weight so far. I was thrilled to hear the heart beat again. The feeling that you get when you hear the heartbeat is like nothing I ever felt before. My eyes filled with tears and I was just immediately overcome with feelings of joy and so much thankfulness. I didn't get a sonogram today, I will get one in 2 weeks when we get to find out the gender!
