23 Months

Katherine Grace turned 23 months on January 15th. She is almost 2! I can't believe it.
Her favorite things: Elmo, Curious George, puzzles, her play kitchen, playdoh, coloring, babydolls, the park, playing dress up and helping around the house.

She loves to help with the laundry,  feeding the dogs, watering the flowers, getting the mail and cooking. I love that she finds so much joy in helping me.

Our newest milestone has been giving up her pacifiers. She is completely done with them. This was not easy but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We are now gearing up for her birthday party. Fun times!

21 Months

So, I am only half a month behind on this one! So sorry. Things have been crazy, busy around here.

Here is what she is up to and some pictures:

Favorite foods:(at the moment)
strawberries
tangerines- in the cups
eggs
grilled cheeses
rice
Danimal yogurts
apples

She has changed her mind about avocados and pasta. She will now eat them on occasion.

She is running, climbing, swinging from things, standing on chairs and the couch and now is jumping. She has been trying to jump for months and finally figured it out and that's all she wants to do now. Her favorite words are: no, ice, wet, hot, uh-oh, oh no and where did it go?

She is obsessed with Elmo and Curious George at the moment. She found Curious George on the PBS app on my phone and Elmo from Sesame Street. She also likes the cookie monster and can even talk like him, pretty hilarious. She is wearing 2T clothing and is still pretty tall. She is putting multiple words together to make phrases and will try to carry on a conversation with you. She has also become very interested in puzzles and blocks.

That's it for now!

Halloween 2013

Katherine Grace was a butterfly. She actually trick or treated this year. It was a lot of fun! She was a little apprehensive about it at first but figured out really quickly that if she went up to the door, there were people waiting to give her candy and tell her how pretty she was. She especially liked all of the spooky yard decorations.

20 Months

Katherine Grace turned 20 months today. I think it feels like she is really close to being 2 or 24 months old... which is really crazy to me because I feel like she was born last week. We have been really busy with playdates, being sick, the Little Gym, the pumpkin patch at the Dallas Arboretum, playing at the park and Texas OU weekend. I can't believe it is already mid- October.

Katherine Grace has really turned a corner with her verbal skills. She is putting together words to make phrases and is learning more and more words everyday. She has become quite the little parrot with her repeating what we say, we have to be so careful! She has also given up the pacifiers during all non- sleep times. So, she basically gets them at nap and bedtime and that is it. She has done pretty well with it and hopefully some time in the future we can get rid of them all together. Her favorite things right now are:

fresh cut up mangos, pancakes, slides and swings, caring for her babydoll, the dogs, her Dadda,
my jewelry, coloring and her Little people toys. She is also obsessed with tools. If we go somewhere that has a toy set, you will know where you can find her. She is also trying to climb out of her crib. We were hoping to wait to transition her to a big girl bed around her 2nd birthday but I am not sure if we will make it that long!

Here are some photos!

19 Months

Katherine Grace turned 19 months on 9/15. She is totally digging this big girl thing. She is obsessed with taking care of her baby doll, walking her, wrapping her up in blankets and putting her to bed. It is the cutest thing ever to watch. She has given up her pacis during the day and she seems to be doing ok with it. She is taking one afternoon nap and sleeps 12-14
hours at night. She is now saying multiple words in a row and is putting together phrases. Katherine Grace is getting some more teeth, she currently has 12 and I think she is working on her canine teeth. We started to go back to the Little Gym once a week. I think she loves it even more. I didn't think that was possible! We also have lots of play dates and fun at the Bake&play cafe. Which is basically an indoor playground and toy area. We are having lots of fun!
