Beware....
Nesting is in full effect! I have been cleaning, organizing, stocking up on necessities and finishing up the last items for the nursery. It was like I woke up one morning and it hit me. Our baby girl is coming in 2 months or less!!! I think it is also has a lot to do with me having a 2 week break from work. I actually have time to think about everything and actually do it. I have heard about nesting but I never knew how serious it was. I have become obsessed and my list just keeps getting bigger and bigger! I guess it is good that I have the motivation and that I am able to accomplish some of the things on my list. Please let me know if you want to come and help: )

30 week update
I went to the doctor today. She told me everything looked great. My belly has grown 2 inches since my last visit 2 weeks ago. I was shocked. I feel bigger but not that much bigger. Everyone keeps asking me how big she is. My doctor told me that she will not be making any guesses until I am 37 weeks and she can do a sonogram. I haven't had a sonogram since I was 18 weeks. She also showed me how she was located today. She is now upside down. She told me that she can turn again before birth but hopefully she will end up upside down on her own in mid February! I get off on Friday for my nice 2 week winter break. I am so excited. I can wait to catch up on my sleep, get organized and continue working on the nursery. Here is a bump pic that Austin took earlier today. Enjoy!

29 weeks!
I am a couple of days late but here is what Baby Center said this week:
How your baby's growing:
Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. Her muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and her head is growing bigger to make room for her developing brain. To meet her increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because her bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.
My cravings: any kind of bread, bagels and cream cheese, ice cream, Mexican food, and sub sandwiches. Nothing new in this department. I will say the holidays are a very ideal time to be pregnant. Last year, I had a really time sticking to my diet. This year, I am enjoying myself!!! A week ago, my belly measured 27 inches from top to bottom. I go again next week and will update you again then.

Labor and Delivery Tour
Last night we went and took a tour of the Labor and Delivery wing of Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. This is where I plan to deliver baby Champion in February. It was really great getting so everything before the big day. It definitely was nice, well organized, full of options and they seem to want to accommodate your every need. There was a brand new baby being checked into the nursery while we were there. It was amazing to see all that they do to check out the babies, fingerprint them and clean them off. Last night definitely made everything more real (not that it wasn't already) but I think I was in a little bit of shock after we left the tour. Here is a picture that I got from their website of one of their rooms.

I passed!
My glucose tolerance test. Which means 2 things: I can continue to eat all of my favorite sweets and I don't have gestational diabetes! I went in Wednesday for my 28 week appointment. The doctor said everything looked really good. They also tested my glucose tolerance and me for anemia again and both tests came back yesterday within the normal levels. I was very relieved! I am was really getting worried about having to give up my peppermint ice cream! I will post more later this week including some bump pics.

Pup Portraits
Austin and I attended an amazing fundraiser last spring called Mutts and Martinis. It is put on by Paws in the City. There, we won a free dog photography session and some prints from Sugar Lime Studios. We tried to schedule one for this summer but with me being early on in my pregnancy and the heat, it didn't work out. So, two weeks ago, we had the session. We did them at Goar Park, my favorite park in Dallas. The dogs did such a great job and were so cute. Maggie decided at the end to get in and lie down in the disgustingly dirty creek. She was no longer blonde and was now a brown retriever! Here are the three pics we chose. Enjoy!

A trip to the vet....
I took Maggie and Mya to the vet on Tuesday. We came home Sunday to find poor Maggie with what looked like an ear infection. Not being her first ear infection, I cleaned it out and put some of the cleaner solution that I had in her ear. She was still shaking her head Monday night and her ear still looked kind of gross so I made an appointment for her. Then, later that night, I was giving Mya a bath and found some hot spots around her tummy area. Poor girls! They were both in bad shape. Theywere due for some shots anyways so I took them both in. Maggie got a very good ear cleaning. The vet didn't want to put her on antibiotics unless it gets worse or doesn't improve. Mya was put on a steriod and an antibiotic. So I am doctoring and monitoring the both of them and hoping that they both improve soon. When it rains, it pours.
