Katherine Grace arrived February 15, 2012 at 9:14 am weighing 7 lbs 2 ounces. She was 18 3/4 inches long and is perfect in every way. We got to go come home from the hospital on Saturday morning and were very happy to get out of there. Don't get me wrong, having so many people watching over you and at your beck and call is nice but we were ready by the 4th day to get home. Bringing her home from the hospital was both stressful and magical. We are now trying to figure out feeding and sleep schedules and are adjusting well. I will blog more when I get a chance; we go to the pediatrician tomorrow and have her newborn photo session on Thursday -- big week! Here are some pics from the last couple of days:

39 Weeks Tomorrow!
Here is a pic we took of the two of us before our date on Saturday night. We went to Tillman's Roadhouse and enjoyed some yummy southern fried food, smores and each other's company. We are just counting down the hours until we check in to the hospital Wednesday! Thank you to all who have been praying for us.

38 Weeks
We went yesterday for our weekly doctor's appointment. She said everything looked good, still no dilation though. So, I will not see her again until we check into the hospital next Wednesday. I am not going to lie, I was relieved. I think it would be a little scary if I go into labor before next Wednesday. It also gives me a few more days to get some last minute errands and tasks done. I am having dinner with some of my good friends, getting my hair highlighted, nails done, stock up on groceries, finish up the laundry and have a much needed date night with my hubby! I am feeling all sorts of emotions right now and find myself very giddy but nervous. I will post some nursery pictures this weekend. Feel free to send some prayers and positive thoughts this way:)

37 Weeks
We went in yesterday for a sonogram. The technician said everything looked good. They are predicting our baby girl to weigh 6.6 pounds as of yesterday. No, that is not a projected birth weight, that is what they think she currently weighs! I was a little shocked at first but that is 60% percentile and it sounds very healthy to me. I also took it with a grain of salt considering they are very rarely accurate with those estimations. I was supposed to go in later that afternoon for my weekly appointment but Dr. Speight was stuck in an emergency surgery so they rescheduled my appointment for this Monday. I am a little nervous about going that long with out my "check-up" but it is what it is. I have also become very comfortable with the fact that I will have a C-Section. Through talking with friends and reading about it online, it seems that the recovery is the worst part. I also have only 8 more work days, maybe even less if I start feeling badly so the official countdown has begun. I will try and post some bump pics this weekend, I am sorry, I am not feeling very photogenic these days:) I will also post an update after my appointment on Monday.

Baby Update
I went in today for my 36 week appointment. Blood pressure was good, weight was good and heartbeat was perfect. Today was the first day she checked for dilation and effacement. I apparently had none of that. No dilation, no effacement, nothing! I was shocked. I have definitely been having some Braxton Hicks contractions but she said that was perfectly normal for being 36 weeks along. As she was checking for all of this, she noticed that she couldn't really feel the baby's head. She thought maybe because she is so high or essentially living in my rib cage. So, she decided to do an ultrasound. Just as she thought, baby Champion is breech. I was shocked! When I went in for my last 4 appointments, she has been head down. That little stinker! Dr. Speight then checked my fluid levels to see if she could possibly have the ability to turn on her own. No such luck. Due to minimal room and fluid it is very unlikely but still possible for her to turn on her own. Apparently, most babies that end up turning, have more room and have at least a foot down for some traction. Not this baby. She is all cuddled up in a ball, happy as can be. So, the verdict... a scheduled C-Section on February 15th. I will go in next Wednesday and we will get a better sonogram to see about her weight, see if she has turned and to basically have the C-section finalized. It is amazing how things can change. I am still in shock but I just want a healthy baby girl. I am trying to look at all of the positives of the situation: knowing when she is coming, being able to be completely (as much as possible) prepared, being able to have my hair , makeup and nails done, no cone- headed baby and not having stitches in a place no one wants to have stitches! I know God has a plan and we just have to trust in him. I will post some bump pics later this week. My wonderful co-workers are throwing me a shower tomorrow at work, I am really excited!

35 Weeks
Only 33 days to go. In a little over month, (or less) we will get to meet our baby girl. I am definitely getting antsy and nervous but I am ready to finally meet her and not be pregnant any longer! I am still nesting. I assume I will do this until she comes or I no longer have anything to do. We have a few items left with the nursery. I promise I will post some pics as soon as it gets to where it needs to be. We have had a problem with the rug. I ordered one at the beginning of December for Restoration Hardware Baby and Child and it was back- ordered twice and was finally delivered Tuesday... and it doesn't work! It just doesn't look right. So, I was a little frustrated and upset. Our search has started over. If anyone knows where I can find a good rug for her nursery, please email me! I have looked everywhere. I am looking for a very light pink or grey color, a simple pattern or just a plain one. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Here are some pics that Austin took earlier. I think I am growing bigger and bigger every day!
